It really shows how little they really care about the individual, which most here already know this. look how easily they remove those in bethel who have stayed there for many years, who have never held a real job and have no experience in making in the real world, yet the WTS don't care, as long as they make it sound like its God's will.

The Great Apostasy is just months away
by Hiddenwindow inif the rumor on the elimination of the c.o.
position is true, the wt may be unwillingly creating the conditions for a great apostasy within.
since many of these men have served for years or decades, and hold on to the religion precisely due to the their position of power (power is hard to renounce), their deletion would make them reconsider their layalty to the society.

Why is the murder rate going down?
by easyreader1970 inmany people flee to the wbts because of all of the negativity in the world, perceived or real.
"the world is going to hell in a handbasket" is the general belief of most witnesses, especially those who are of middle to low income and have to deal with the unpleasantness of things a little bit more than the well-to-do witnesses who may have their paradise right now.
anyway, something spurred me to check statistics.

How are they convinced that armageddon is around the corner???
by milligal ini just read another thread about the co changes and plans for upcoming persectution.
i can speak for america and say that out constitution is based on religious freedom-this is the same constitution the society hides behind in all of their 'champion' court cases where they defend their right to go in the door to door ministry.
this country is sooooo far from turning against any religion, that we are even allowing terrorist religions to remain as long as they don't act against anyone (please no thread hijacking about that : ).. how in god's name do the jw's think the government is going to turn against religion and start persecuting them, and armagedon is to follow -right 'around the corner'????.

I Find that Being an Apostate Can Be Quite Funny, Do You?
by jamiebowers ini've been out for 20 years but only discovered jwd in the last few years (lurked for quite a while).
anyway, i find it quite humorous that we apostates are privy to actions, decisions, literature, news etc of the wb&ts before our jw friends and relatives.
when i told my "worldly" aunt with much glee that i downloaded the "shepherding the flock" book, she didn't get it.

I know some of you will disagree with me, but i think I have the best of boths worlds, I am still "in" the truth but i know the real truth, and I have never being so well informed about the WTS as I have since I've being on JWD. I have a ball when I inform my Elder friends about what the WTS is going to do next before they do and they askl "how do you know that !! " , now I'm going to tell them about the C/O arrangment being removed. .... and the laughts continue !!! hahaha

If The GB REALLY Wanted To Make Converts, What Would They Do?
by minimus ini say, they would abandon the house to house activity and concentrate their $$$ on "advertise, advertise, advertise the king and his kingdom".
and if they really truly believed their own words, they'd not worry about money and material things-----since we are living in the very last days of the "last days".
but no; they'll never do that because hypocrites is all they are.

I think the method they are using right now is very affective, going directly to the doors of the people using free Labour.

I also give to the UN African relief Fund, but what they need to do is to shoot the leaders and bring in some real people from the west, who know how to run a country without butchering each other.

Don't repeat the foolish comments of one elder and apply it to Africa.

The whites are NOT to blame for all of the Africans miseries. Many times the blacks are their own worst enemies. Look at Mugabe, everything was OK until he kicked out the white farmers. What the Africans need to do is to get rid of all the corrupt leaders, whatever color they are, bring in true democracy and some True Christian values, both of which they have never had.

I have only read the question, I did not read any of the answers, but I think I know the answer, the difference is that the Catholics have for most of their history forbade the use of the bible completely. At one time you were not allowed to have a bible at all, but by the 60’s and 70’s they did allow it but were never allowed to use it. As an EX- Catholic myself, when I was at primary school we used the catechism only and never touch the bible. I do NOT recall the catechism ever referring or quoting any scriptures.
The WTS on the other hand use’s the bible always and refers to it many times, of course we can then claim they misapply or misquote or whatever...but that’s the basic answer to your question.
